| My hair is a bit longer than this pretty woman's hair in this pic. |
I took out the braids and have been walking free for the past month. Whew! Time is flying. I am seeing growth thanks to Father God's #1
hair life supplement: Water. Yup. And, I'm on a weight loss challenge so I have two reasons to increase my water intake. At first I was doing puffs and enjoyed it but I got tired of having to braid it up every night to keep it strecthed. So now, I'm rocking twists which I don't like as much as wearing it out but its a good protective style sooo...and I dont feel like dealing with my hair. I don't want to go get a wig, weave , or braids because it took me some time to come out of the natural hair closet. They were addictive to me as I hid my natural hair. I don't want to revert back to old ways. Several things came to me as I perused natural hair blogs
while at work. When my hair is braided or in a sew-in (great protective styles) I don't wash my hair every week. I can't do length checks. I don't moisturize it (other than drinking water: moisture from the inside out). I just leave it alone. And that's what I plan on doing now. I haven't washed my hair in two weeks and it doesn't feel dirty yet. So I'm going to keep my twists in for as long as I can and just watch the Lord. Isn't that all we do anyway? Just watch God be God? I'm going to see how long it takes before I need another wash. I'm going to see if this style promotes growth and I'm going to watch the rate of growth, especially since I'm eating healthier. I'm going to do different styles with these twists because I really don't like how they look just hanging loose. Sorry my hair hasn't reached its zenith yet. Hopefully, by the end of the year it'll be where I want it to me-shoulder length unstretched.
