7 Reasons I Love Being An American

1) You can pray to whoever you want and disagree with the Government's policies without getting your head chopped off.

2) If you work hard, you can be who you want to be. This is true whether people want to believe it or not. Yes, the work will be difficult (most Americans really don't know what working hard is) but if you apply yourself, network, play your cards right, you can definitely climb the social ladder.

3) The opportunities abound. People can whine all they want but there is no welfare, foster care, public schools, community colleges, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, free libraries, mentoring programs, non-profit organizations, job corp, head start, affirmative action, equal opportunity, subsidized housing and healthcare to help people get on better footing in most of the world.

4) I like the way we give. The world over knows of our generosity. Those countries that speak the worst of America or say 'America needs to mind its business' are either sent money from the USA in terms of Aid or have American sponsored churches running orphanages, hospitals, schools, and food pantries. Few countries can afford for America to mind its own business.

5) America is wealthy even in the midst of a financial crisis. People exclaim that the EU is now the great financial powerhouse. However, there are like 10+ countries in the EU as opposed to the US which is just one country. Additionally, one of the benefits of globalization is that when one country slips, especially a major player like the USA everybody feels it. So everybodys inclined  to maintain so the whole planet doesn't collapse. What twisted web we weave.

6) It is beautiful. The New England changing of the seasons. The Southwest draped in mountains. The Grand Canyon. The Rockies. The Mississippi River. The Open Skies of The Northwest. America really is a wonder. Let's continue to keep her beautiful.

7) Its huge. It takes 3-4 full days of driving to cross the continental USA. Additionally, no matter what type of climate or natural scenery you like, we've got a place in the great 50 for you. Island, snow, heat. desert, city, suburb, rural, we've got it. This is great because Americans love choices. We are the only Western country where you can take a legitimate road trip and still be in the same country. Some of the bigger states like Texas, California, and Alaska, you don't even have to cross state lines. Have you explored your state yet?
