| Dance With Me...For Life |
I date pretty frequently. I have always had better luck finding/dating unchurched men. However, I always had this nagging thought that I was doing something wrong (conviction). These nagging thoughts have been buttressed by some other nagging thoughts:
1) God shall not be mocked, You reap what you sow. I do not want to blame God for me being single 10 years from now when there's ample men available.
2) Women are more spiritual than men. This is true across religions. Therefore, the numbers are not in a I'll-only-date-a-Christian woman's favor. That number goes down even further if a woman is only considering black men, a Christian men 'on her level', and definitely plummets if she's not willing to have sex before marriage (don't lie, you know it does).
3) Religious men tend to be great spiritually but lacking in other areas, namely finances. This has been my #1 turnoff when dating (Black) Christian men. They are not ambitious or behind in their professional pursuits. The Bible does say man shall not live by bread alone. This implies that bread will be in the equation but its not everything....but it will be a part of the equation so somebody needs to make some bread.
4) Religious men tend to be more abusive and domineering when they get married. How you gonna beat your chest talking about I'm the head but not make no bread...lol.
5) There seems to be a difference between a good man and a Godly man. I would much rather prefer a man that is nice and kind than a man that knows a lot of Bible verses. A religious man doesn't neccessarily mean the man is good.
6) Shouldn't character be the most important factor when deciding who to marry?
7) Isn't itbetter to marry than to burn...and/or have kids outside of wedlock.
8) Everybody that's telling me to wait on a saved man is single like me...or has been single for a long time (10-20+ years) or married for a long time. How much advice should I really take from these people who haven't been in the dating market for some time?
9) I'm tired of waiting. I want to plant some seeds, see first point.
What's a Christian woman to do?
