The Case For A Women's Only Church

An idea came to me. Since men have such issues with women wearing certain clothes to church or using their gifts to preach or lead groups of people without 'usurping their authority', maybe women should start their own assemblies for them and by them. Why are women spending a 10th of their hard earned money to be told that their gifts should be reduced to minding themselves (women's ministry), minding the children (Sunday School), or serving the missionaries (hospitality ministry) when there are so many women who have the gift of preaching, teaching, and leadership? Why commit ones life to organizations who have a hard time admitting that God loves women just as much as he loves men? If we removed gender from our assemblies, our leadership roles would be drastically different and the quality of Christian service would be better.

How many women don't speak up during church meetings because 'theyre not supposed to speak'? How many women don't or can't offer great ideas because they don't qualify to be deacon even though they do more work than a deacon and a trustee put together, not because of title but because they love God? How many times have we gone to churches where the male preacher drones on and on about the same subject he's talked about last week but in Women's Ministry in the basement of the church or in someone's living room the Spirit is high and in full effect? How many times does church attire come up because the men 'get tempted'? How much more effective would we be in reaching our teen girls if women would stop maintaining the maschocentric stereotype that only men want/need sex and companionship?

What if we took gender out of the equation? That way men wouldn't have to feel threatened when a woman takes on a leadership role. Women don't have to feel policed about what they wear to church. Women can excercise all of their gifts and abilities without being silenced into subjection. All the gender issues that Paul addresses in the Epistles would be null and void. In essence, women would be more free to serve God whole heartedly.

Different but something to think about.
