My thoughts:
1) I think Iyanla was right for letting Harpo know what was going on.
2) I think it was rash for Oprah to shut it down so quickly.
3) I don't like how Oprah made Iyanla look like such an arse. Oprah has a trend of having famous people come on only to talk about their junk-Kirk Franklin, Common, Kanye West, Kathy Griffin, and the 'weakest link' lady.
4) I honor Oprah for always thinking with a business eye. She never let 'help a Negro out' shoot her in the foot.
5) I think she should've still capitalized on the wealth that she had created. To go from $3 million to 'working class poor' with a law degree, books, and fame speaks of one's inability to handle one's finances. Mind you, she was a regular on that counseling show 'Starting Over' in the mid 2000s, has had several guest appearances, and a contributor to Essence.
6) It can't be the anointed time and not the appointed time.
7) They are some chunky women.
8) Someone pointed this out to me once and I've picked up on it-Black women have luminous, deep-set eyes. They are definitely on display in this video.
Since then
1) Of course the mega-house is gone
2) The husband is gone. He actually was married when they got together. He was with a woman and they had 8 children together (or at least they were all under the same roof). He didn't have any money and pretty much was Iyanla's lacky. Supposedly, this rip started when she said on one of the Oprah shows that he didn't have any money but she still loved him. Mind you this brother was 'conscious'. She says after that statement, it was downhill. Gold diggers tend to be of the male persuasion in the African-American community only they don't think of it as such.

4) She attempted suicide.
5)She has an amazing amount of faith.
This whole story makes me so sad. So much potential, even with the dismissal, wasted.
