Its Never Too Late to Make a Resolution

Why wait until January 1, 2012 rolls around to resolve to do something you know you need to do? or Why did you give up on your New Year's Resolution so soon?  Now is the time to reflect and make resolutions to benefit ourselves, our communities, and the greater good. Consider volunteering this year. Those of you not  affected by the recession, continue donating sheets and blankets to your local homeless shelters or donate food to your local food bank. Consider your attitude towards others. Have you grown callous and unforgiving? Have you grown rude and impatient? Consider finding ways to get away from the negative and find a space to center and better manage your attitudes. Become cordial to your neighbors, family members, and coworkers. Are you a teacher, social worker, pastor who has grown cold in your charge to urge greatness from those whom you have responsibility for? Consider, pray, meditate, ask God for help to give you a fresh fire and a greater joy as you do what the Master does. Find hope in the little things. If you are one of those families being devastated by the current economic situation, pray for peace in your mind and contentment in your heart. Find ways to grow, love, laugh, and use your gifts to make money. Extend yourself outside of yourself and watch great things happen to you and your family.

It is in struggle where we find out what we're made of. It is in struggle that we learn what's really important in life. For after  a storm, there is even greater sunshine. I wish you nothing but God's rest and favor for the rest of this year.
