The Storm Is Passing Over
In the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic part of the country where I live (January 2011) we have been getting a snow storm every week....and every week, I have been enduring a personal storm. However, with the natural storms, we expect better weather and endure it. That is what keeps us going. The hope of tomorrow and even the beauty of today. Most of us have funny, wild, and crazy stories of falling or almost falling, car almost slipping off the road, or a bus taking too long (if at all) while in inclement weather. They were uncomfortable experiences but we get through them. We expected them and we prepared for them as best we could.
As it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual. We must look towards the future with hope, prepare for the storms as best we can, and endure the present with grace. Better days are coming. Greener pastures will be here before we know it and so will another storm coming right behind it. It is not what is done to you. It is how you respond.
So when the storms come and you get bogged down with the viccissitudes of life, remember the storm is passing over. It is only temporary and start looking for the positives in the situation. Here's to encouraging one's own self.
Here are a few gems.
