Online Grade Schools

With the state of education in America in peril, there is no wonder some parents are considering online grade schools for their children. This puts a new twist on the home-schooling option and allows students who would not get a good education at their neighborhood schools to learn in peace. I encourage parents to consider all their options (and there are many) for what is best for them and their child.
I know many parents who have tried the charter school route when public education wasn't working and still came up short. There are those who have even tried private school and the teaching was weak at best. For parents who work at home, are stay at home moms, or grandparents, this could be a feasible option. Also, parents with children who are constantly teased or bullied should consider the distance learning option. Bullying is real and it does not go away by just 'ignoring them'. This is usually a cop-out by parents who were not teased as children from dealing with the issue.

Parents must weigh all options and see what works for their situation and their child's overall educational growth. Research is key to finding a quality school whether traditional brick-and-mortar school or online school. Parents can network with other home-school/distance learning families to provide social opportunities on a weekly and/or monthly basis. Remember, the internet is your friend.

Do your research for the year 2011-2012 school year and go forth and do great things.

Learning looks good on you.
